February 23, 2014 Writing Prompt:
Write about grief.
What makes you sad? Have you lost a pet, child, parent, sibling, lover, job, home? Grief can fill our hearts and make moving forward seem impossible. Give your sadness and grief color and shape and write about it as if you’re describing a painting.
February 22, 2014 Writing Prompt:
Write about lust.
Do you lust after chocolate, an expensive pair of boots or leather jacket, your neighbor’s husband or wife, or your best friend’s salary? Perhaps you lust for power? Whatever it is, imagine you have this particular thing and write about how you got it and how it feels having it.
February 19, 2014 Writing Prompt:
Write a letter of apology.
The letter can be written to someone who is living or dead. This is an opportunity to say everything you “should” say or “should” have said. Be clear, concise, honest and forthright. Only send the letter if you believe it will improve your relationship.

Write about shame.
What are your deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings? Describe your shadow side in detail. Write without stopping for at least 15 minutes. Then, shred or burn what you’ve written. Now, doesn’t that feel better?

Write about something you dread.
We all avoid doing various tasks, or being around certain people. What is the one thing that fills you with the most anxiety? Snakes? Public Speaking? Heights? Write a couple of paragraphs about how and why you avoid these situations.
