September 23 Writing Prompt: Clothes

Look through your closet and select an article of clothing that represents an important or significant event in your life. Give this article of clothing a voice of its own and have it “talk” about the event from its point of view.

September 22 Writing Prompt: Choices

In spite of our good intentions, sometimes we ended up making choices that we later come to regret. Write about the worst choice you ever made, and then make an effort to find either humor or insight from the situation. Perhaps the bad choice has ultimately made you a better, more compassionate person.

September 21 Writing Prompt: Chocolate

Do you love chocolate? Is it your favorite sweet? If so, write about the first time you had it. If not, write about your favorite dessert. Include the first time you tasted it or who made it and what it is you love about it.

September 20 Writing Prompt: Children

How do you feel about children? If you have children of your own write about the best and worst part of having them. If you don’t have children, write about the best and worst part of your childhood. Pick two scenes that come to mind and write out as many details as you can. What can you learn by looking at these situations now that you are older and wiser?

September 19 Writing Prompt: Change
Are you someone who fears change or embraces it? What change are you afraid to make? Write about the fear that is stopping you. What change have you recently made? Write about whatever you had to overcome to make that change.

September 18 Writing Prompt: Challenge

When was the last time you challenged yourself to do something extraordinary? Describe the situation and the outcome. Perhaps someone challenged you to do something you had never done before. Describe the situation and why you accepted or declined the challenge.

September 17 Writing Prompt: Cats

Do you love or hate cats? Either write about a cat you have or had and the role the cat played in your life. If you’re not a cat lover, then write a scene where a cat is a villain. Add dialogue between you and the cat.

September 16 Writing Prompt: Cars

Write about your first car, your first experience driving, or your first memory of being in a car. What do you think the cars of the future will be like? Do you believe cars will eventually be replaced by other modes of transportation? What would the world be like without cars?

September 15 Writing Prompt: Body
Is your body your temple? Why or why not? What do you do to take care of yourself, or how could you take better care of yourself, or why don’t you take care of yourself? Write about it.

September 14 Writing Prompt: Bitch
Think of someone you know who is a bitch and describe them in detail. Then, write some dialogue revealing their bitchy nature. Can you be a bitch and still be likeable? Are there circumstances when being a bitch is a good thing?
