This prompt is based on the song title, In the Still of the Night by The Five Satins. Continue this story: Jason woke up and looked at the clock. It was 2:00 a.m. and the night was so still, he couldn’t hear a sound. Only the sliver of a moon, hanging from the sky let him know his senses were still working. Where was he and how long had he been here?

What could you do to create more moments that take your breath away? Have you ever struggled to breathe? What went through your mind at that time?

August 21 Writing Prompt:

This prompt is based on the song title, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For by U2. What are you looking for? Are others looking for it too? Why haven’t you found it? Are you sure it exists? What will change when you find it? What will happen if you never find it? Will you ever give up and stop looking? Express this situation in a poem.

August 20 Writing Prompt:

This prompt is based on the song title, Love and Happiness by Al Green. Are you in love? Are you happy? If so, write about the things that make you feel this way. If you aren’t in love or if you’re unhappy, write about the cause and what you plan on doing (if anything) to change the situation. What would it take to bring love and happiness into your life?

What clues led you to your belief about this person? Perhaps you’re suspicious about your partner or spouse’s activities. Write about your suspicions and the consequences should you confront them.
